Adnan Siddiqui's birthday crown post: 'Badshah Salamat' jokes, Laila question and Tamasha 6 hint

Adnan Siddiqui did not post a cake or a party for his birthday this year. He posted himself in a silver crown, and his friends took the hint straight away. The actor and Tamasha host shared the picture on Instagram on Friday with a short, light caption, and the comments turned into a running joke about his most famous role, ARY News and Daily Times reported.

What the post shows

It is a simple self-portrait: Adnan, smiling, with a shiny silver crown on his head. No outfit reveal, no family photo, no brand tag. The crown is the whole idea, and anyone who watched Mere Paas Tum Ho knows why. His character Shahwar was nicknamed “Badshah Salamat”, and fans have never let it go.

The caption, as quoted by ARY News, reads: “There is no count of age today. Only the count of happiness should be: more cake, fewer thoughts, and countless prayers.” He did not mention his age, and neither do we need to. The tone is self-aware rather than sentimental, which is how he has handled social media for a while now.

The comments: Badshah Salamat and ‘where is Laila?’

Actor Aijaz Aslam went straight for the nickname: “Happy birthday, salamat rahain Badshah salamat.” Shazia Wajahat, the producer, wished him a long life with a heart emoji, according to ARY News.

The comment that got people laughing was from a follower who wished him and then asked “where is Laila g”. It is a nod to Tamasha. Two weeks ago a finale photo of Adnan sitting among female contestants, including Sheikh Laila, went around online with the Mere Paas Tum Ho soundtrack playing over it, and users had plenty of jokes, Minute Mirror reported. The birthday comment section picked that joke right back up.

Why the timing works

The post lands less than two weeks after Tamasha season 5 ended on ARY Digital on October 10. Adnan has hosted the reality show since its first season in 2022. In his farewell post after the finale, embedded below, he signed off with the line “The next one should be louder”, which fans read as a hint that season 6 is coming, ARY News reported. ARY has not announced a new season yet.

So the crown is a birthday joke, but it is also good branding. The Badshah Salamat persona keeps his name in conversation between seasons, and his feed is leaning into it rather than away from it.

The numbers

ARY News and Daily Times both described the comments as full of wishes from co-stars and fans. We could not see a public like count to quote at the time of writing, so we are not putting a number on it.

If ARY confirms Tamasha 6, expect the crown to make a comeback on the promo.
